What is selective gold plating? A simple answer is the…
What is gold plating? Gold plating is the method of depositing a thin layer of gold onto a conductive surface. The surface to be plated is normally a metal base which allows a current to be passed through it forming a complete circuit. Both the anode and part to be plated, also called the cathode, are then submerged in an electrolyte. Once the current is applied the gold particles in the solution bond with the item being plated.
We are able to gold plate tiny contacts to large sheets of stainless steel as in the image above. We rack, barrel and also brush plate.
Our hard gold plating can be deposited up to 10 microns in thickness. This is suitable for technical and decorative applications and provides a tough durable finish on all items for long term durability.
